The EWHL Super Cup 2016/17 was the sixth event of the EWHL Super Cup . The competition in ice hockey of the women was from the Elite Women's Hockey League organized (EWHL).

Mode and participants

The nine participating teams played everyone against everyone in a single round . A game lasted 3 × 20:00 minutes. There are three points for a win; For a victory after overtime ( sudden victory overtime ) or penalty shootout , the winner receives two points, the loser one.

In addition to last year's participants ESC Planegg , ECDC Memmingen and ERC Ingolstadt from Germany, HC ŠKP Bratislava from Slovakia and KMH Budapest from Hungary, the EV Bozen Eagles competed again after 2014/15 . Aisulu Almaty from Kazakhstan is a new participant . In addition, two Austrian selection teams came this season, made up of players from the EWHL teams EHV Sabers Vienna (Austrian Sabers Select) and DEC Salzburg Eagles (Austrian Eagles Select) with national players from other clubs. The ZSC Lions had not registered for the Super Cup.
