Earl Baldwin of Bewdley is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .

The 1st Earl's residence was Astley Hall at Stourport-on-Severn in Worcestershire ; the 4th Earl lives at Manor Farm House in Upper Wolvercote, Oxfordshire .

Award and subordinate titles

The title was created on June 8, 1937 for the conservative politician Stanley Baldwin , who was from 1908 to 1937 Member of Parliament for the constituency of Bewdley . Baldwin served three times, from 1923 to 1924, from 1924 to 1929 and from 1935 to 1937, the office of Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, and he also held several ministerial offices in other Conservative governments.

Along with the earldom he was awarded the title of a subordinate Viscount Corvedale , of Corvedale in the County of Salop awarded. This title is also used as a courtesy title by the heir apparent .

Heir to the title is the eldest son of the current earl, Benedict Baldwin, Viscount Corvedale (* 1973).
