East Blues Experience (EBE) is a blues rock band from Berlin .

history

East Blues Experience was founded in Berlin at the end of 1990 by the singer, guitarist and songwriter Peter Schmidt, previously with the band "Handarbeit ". The band's founding line-up included bassist Rene Mosgraber and drummer Jürgen Schötz, who had previously played with Big Joe Stolle and Alexander Blume at Zenit and then with Peter Schmidt in the "Intercity Blues Band". Shortly after the founding, Ronny Dehn switched to drums and Jäcki Reznicek took over bass in 1994, after a short interlude by Peter Stojanow. Reznicek had previously played in Veronika Fischer's backing band , with Pankow and with Silly . In the same year her album " East Blues Experiende" was released on Mara Records, after an LP called "EBE" was already recorded in 1991 on Turtle Records in Klein Machnow with Andre Ölschlegel.

In 1993 EBE played their "Good Understanding Tour" together with Carey Bell as a guest. The studio album Good Understanding with Carey Bell was recorded in Prague . Further appearances at many festivals with well-known bands such as Uriah Heep, Golden Earring, Molly Hatchet, ZZ Top, Procol Harum, Jethro Tull and others. v. a. made the band known nationally and internationally.

At the beginning of 2000, EBE brought in Axel Merseburger, a second guitarist, into the band, as Jäcki Reznicek had obligations with Silly and Joachim Witt and so Rainer Engelmann played the bass. In 2004 the band went on another successful tour through Germany and separated in spring 2005, because Peter Schmidt wanted to take a creative break after 15 years in order to be able to go other musical ways.

At the end of 2007 the trio Schmidt, Dehn, Engelmann met again in the studio and recorded the album V 10 . From February 2008 to May 2008 Schmidt, Engelmann and Dehn were on the “V 10 Tour” through Germany. The final concert of the tour took place on May 31st in the Parkbühne Berlin-Biesdorf .

After another creative break, Peter Schmidt, Ronny Dehn, Jäcki Reznicek met and decided to play a tour again with Adrian Dehn, Ronny's son. For this purpose, the EP Der Tag was recorded in 2014, for the first time with German-language titles. This tour was very successful and was the beginning of a continuous tour activity, which will now be continued in 2019 with the album "Make It Better" and the following tour in 2020.
