Eastbourne is a district of Hutt City ( Lower Hutt ) in the Wellington region ofthe North Island of New Zealand .

Eastbourne is 9 km south of Lower Hutt city center on the east bank of Wellington Harbor . Wellington , opposite Eastbourne across Wellington Harbor to the west , is around 10 km away.

Location description
In Eastbourne is a small shopping street is with some shops. Otherwise, Eastbourne has a village-like colonial character. From the shores of Wellington Harbor there is a good view of downtown Wellington . A ferry (" The East by West ( Days Bay ) ferry ") runs every half hour between Queens Wharf in Wellington and Days Bay .
Eastbourne is home to New Zealand's oldest ANZAC memorial to commemorate the Battle of Gallipoli , it was erected on July 11, 1915.
