The Eastern Connecticut State University (also Eastern or ECSU called) is a state university in Willimantic in eastern US state of Connecticut . There are currently around 5427 students enrolled. The university is a so-called Liberal Arts College .

history

The college was founded in 1889, making it the second oldest college in the Connecticut State University system .

research

The Institute for Sustainable Energy , a research and teaching center for sustainable forms of energy, is part of the ECSU .

Sports

Eastern Connecticut State University's sports teams are the Warriors . The college is a member of the Eastern College Athletic Conference .
