Hiiumaa

1755 was Ebba Margaretha Stenbock by a decree of Russian Empress Elisabeth the title to the estate Suuremõisa (German Grossenhof ) and other lands on the island of Hiiumaa transmitted. The estate had been owned by her father at the end of the 17th century before it was reduced to the then Swedish crown.

Ebba Margaretha had the estate expanded vigorously. The castle-like mansion, one of the largest and best-preserved examples of late Baroque architecture in Estonia, was built under her aegis . Later the estate was passed on to her son Jakob Pontus Stenbock .
