Ebergisl of Minden
Ebergisl (also Ebergisus or Eberis ) († October 18, 950 ) was Bishop of Minden from 927 to October 18, 950 .
Like his predecessor, he had to fight off the constant invasions of Hungary in the diocese . The Magyars destroyed the monasteries Obernkirchen and Visbek during his time as bishop . In Obernkirchen they burned down the monastery buildings in 936 and killed the 120 nuns . In Minden in 947 a fire destroyed the first Carolingian cathedral , the Ottonian successor building was consecrated by his successor, Bishop Helmward . Ebergisl took part in the universal synod of Ingelheim .
