Eberhard Kuthning

Eberhard Kuthning (born July 3, 1923 in Elbing , East Prussia , † May 13, 2013 in Celle ) was a German lawyer .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1941, Kuthning, son of a pastor, began studying law at the Albertus University in Königsberg and at the Charles University in Prague . After taking part in the Second World War , he continued his studies at the Georg-August University in Göttingen after the war and passed his first state examination there. In 1948 he put there his promotion to the doctorate in law with a dissertation titled The original erroneous marriage in international private law from. After passing the second state law examination in Hanover , he joined the judicial service of the state of Lower Saxony and in 1954 was advisor to the local court. In June 1959 he moved to the Higher Regional Court of Celle as a higher regional judge and in 1960 to the Lower Saxony Ministry of Justice .

In October 1965, Kuthning was appointed district court director at the Hanover district court and in December 1967 Ministerialrat in the Lower Saxony Ministry of Justice, before he succeeded Gerhard Seidler as president of the Braunschweig district court in December 1968 . He held this post until he was replaced by Wilhelm Kutscher in January 1975, after which he himself succeeded Georg Ostendorff as President of the Schleswig-Holstein Higher Regional Court . He held this position until he retired in July 1988 and was then replaced by Gerold Köhler . He was active at times as President of the Federal Party Court of the CDU .
