Athletic career

At the age of 18, Eberhard Lippmann began his career in higher-class football in the second team of Dynamo Dresden , which played in the second-class GDR league , during the 1970/71 season . In the more than 30 rounds of the season he was used in eight point games and scored one goal. In the following season 1971/72 he was part of the expanded player base. After an increase in the GDR league to five seasons, only 20 games were played in season D, of which Lippmann played 15 matches. With his six goals he was the top scorer of his team. 1972/73 he was with the 2nd team relay winner, since this was not eligible for promotion, but they did not take part in the promotion round to the GDR Oberliga. Lippmann was involved in the season win with 14 league games and five goals. For the 1973/74 season he moved to the league promoted Stahl Riesa. There he was used as a defender and came to 17 point games. In the following three league seasons Lippmann was set as a regular player and came in the 78 point games on 67 missions. In 1977 Riesa had to relegate from the league again, but immediately managed to get promoted again. In the 22 GDR league games in 1977/78, Lippmann played 20 times and, converted to a striker, was top scorer for the second time after 1972 with 14 goals. He also played all eight promotion games and was also the best scorer of the promotion round with seven hits. He took his goal danger in the following league season 1978/79. In his 24 game appearances, he scored ten goals and was again the best shooter for the Riesaer. He repeated that again in 1979/80, this time with six goals in 24 league games. After the 1980/81 season, BSG Stahl had to relegate again. Lippmann missed six points games and only scored five goals. The 1981/82 league season was unsatisfactory for both Stahl Riesa and Lippmann. The team was the season winner, but missed the return to the league with fourth place in the promotion round. Lippmann could not be used for almost the entire season and only made seven league games. Even with his seven appearances in the promotion round, he could no longer help the team. He then left Stahl Riesa and joined the league climber Chemie Böhlen. There he was used as a striker again in 1984/85, but only scored two goals in his 19 league games. Since Böhlen did not manage to stay in the league, Lippmann played again in the GDR league in 1983/84 with BSG Chemie. As a 31-year-old he played his last season in high-class football. He ran back to his old strength, he was only missing in one of the 22 point games and was successful with six goals. After Böhlen had missed the rise as second in the table, Lippmann ended his career as a competitive athlete, but continued with the 2nd team of Chemie Böhlen as a recreational footballer. He was able to look back on 171 league appearances with 31 goals and on 86 GDR league games with 34 goals, as well as on the participation in 15 league promotion games and nine goals.
