Eberhard Weichenhan

Eberhard Weichenhan (born May 13, 1948 - † July 9, 2014 ) was a German association official .

Career

Weichenhan studied business administration and from 1990 worked as an insurance broker with a focus on fishing companies and fishing clubs for the Ergo insurance group.

Weichenhan became involved early on as a fishing officer in what was then the Potsdam District Committee of the German Anglers' Association (DAV) of the GDR. Since it was founded on September 15, 1990, he was President of the Brandenburg State Anglers' Association in the DAV. He was also a member of the State Fisheries Council at the Supreme Fisheries Authority and of the Presidium of the German Fisheries Association . Weichenhan initiated the publication of the “Märkischer Anglers”, an association magazine for all members, from 1991. He brought the world championship for anglers with disabilities to Potsdam in 2008 and was the driving force behind the introduction of fishing as a school subject in Brandenburg. He also spoke out against a fishing ban for young people under 16 years of age.

He was married and has two children.
