The German Fisheries Association e. V. (DFV) was founded in Berlin in 1870 under the protectorate of the German Crown Prince as the German Fisheries Association.
The aim when it was founded was to increase German inland fishing , fish farming and sea fishing. The first president was Georg Herbert zu Munster . The currently incumbent President of the German Fisheries Association with its seat (after its relocation) in Bonn and administration in Hamburg has been Holger Ortel since September 2007 . The association comprises German anglers and fishermen and has around 1.1 million individual members in four independent branch associations .
history
After it was founded in 1870 as the German Fisheries Association, an important exhibition of equipment and products for sea and inland fishing was held in the new market hall on Schiffbauerdamm in Berlin in 1872 . In 1936 it was renamed the Reich Association of German Fisheries, which was interrupted during the Second World War. Towards the end of the Second World War, in 1949 it was reorganized into Deutscher Fischerei-Verband e. V. Due to the restructuring as the umbrella organization of its divisional associations, the extension of the name was extended to Deutscher Fischerei-Verband e. V. Union of professional and sport fishermen .
Task
The DFV represents interests that are stored in the lobby list of the German Bundestag as follows:
"Representation of the interests of professional and sport fishing, these are all labor law, tax law and food industry issues as well as all other questions related to the fishing industry; Water protection, environmental protection and health policy issues. "
The DFV formulated further positions on the task in the context of the "Bingen Declaration - Fisheries Policy Guidelines for the Future" in 2005. The tenor of the declaration includes the promotion of the environment, nature, consumer rights, fishing industry, fisheries science , and fishing . The DFV is an institutional partner in the foundation that awards the German Sustainability Award .
