history
The diocese Tlalnepantla was on January 13, 1964 by Pope Paul VI. established with the Apostolic Constitution Aliam ex aliis from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Mexico City and subordinated to this as a suffragan . On February 5, 1979, the Diocese of Tlalnepantla were parts of its territory to the founding of the Apostolic Constitution Conferentia Episcopalis Mexicana erected diocese Cuautitlan from.
On June 17, 1989, the diocese of Tlalnepantla was raised to an archbishopric by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Quoniam ut plane . The Archdiocese of Tlalnepantla was on 28 June 1995 part of its territory to the founding of the Apostolic Constitution pastoral Ad curam erected Diocese of Ecatepec from.
