The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of León ( lat. : Archidioecesis Leonensis , span. : Arquidiócesis de León ) is an in Mexico located Roman Catholic archdiocese , based in León .
history
The diocese of León was on January 26, 1863 by Pope Pius IX. built from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Michoacán and subordinated to this as a suffragan . On 13 October 1973, the diocese of Leon were parts of its territory to the founding of the Apostolic Constitution scribae illi Evangelico erected Diocese of Celaya from.
