The Archdiocese of Jalapa ( lat. : Archidioecesis Ialapensis , span. : Arquidiócesis de Jalapa ) is in Mexico located Roman Catholic archdiocese , based in Xalapa .
history
The Archdiocese of Jalapa was founded on March 19, 1863 by Pope Pius IX. Established from the cession of the dioceses of Antequera and Tlaxcala as the Diocese of Veracruz-Jalapa and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Mexico City as a suffragan . On November 24, 1922, the Diocese of Veracruz-Jalapa were parts of its territory to the founding of the Apostolic Constitution Orbis catholici erected Diocese of Papantla off.
The Diocese of Veracruz-Jalapa was founded on June 29, 1951 by Pope Pius XII. with the Apostolic Constitution Inter praecipuas raised to the archbishopric. On 23 May 1959, the Archdiocese of Veracruz-Jalapa were parts of its territory to the founding of the Apostolic Constitution Quibus Christianized erected Diocese of San Andres Tuxtla off. The Archdiocese of Veracruz-Jalapa was renamed the Archdiocese of Jalapa on June 9, 1962 . On 15 April 2000, the Archdiocese of Jalapa were parts of its territory to the founding of the Apostolic Constitution Ministry Nostrum erected Diocese of Córdoba and to the establishment of the Apostolic Constitution ferre adiutorium erected Diocese of Orizaba from.
