history

The diocese of Veracruz was on June 9, 1962 by Pope John XXIII. established with the Apostolic Constitution Populorum bono from cessions of territory of the diocese of San Andrés Tuxtla and subordinated to the archdiocese of Jalapa as a suffragan .
