history

The Diocese of Coatzacoalcos was established on March 14, 1984 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Plane conscii from cessions of territory from the Diocese of San Andrés Tuxtla and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Jalapa as a suffragan .
