The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Tuxtla ( lat. : Archidioecesis Tuxtlensis , span. : Arquidiócesis de Tuxtla Gutierrez ) is one in Mexico located Roman Catholic Archdiocese based in Tuxtla Gutierrez .

history

The Archdiocese of Tuxtla Gutiérrez was founded on October 27, 1964 by Pope Paul VI. Established with the Apostolic Constitution Cura illa from cession of territory by the Diocese of Chiapas as the Diocese of Tuxtla Gutiérrez and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Antequera as a suffragan . On November 25, 2006, the diocese Tuxtla Gutiérrez was by Pope Benedict XVI. elevated to the archbishopric with the Apostolic Constitution Mexicani populi .
