The diocese of Tapachula ( lat. : Dioecesis Tapacolensis , span. : Diócesis de Tapachula ) is in Mexico located Roman Catholic diocese based in Tapachula .
The diocese extends to the municipalities of Arriaga , Villaflores , Municipio Villa Corzo , Tonalá , La Concordia , Ángel Albino Corzo , Pijijiapan , Mapestepec , Motozintla , Siltepec , Bella Vista , La Grandeza , Bejucal de Ocampo , Amatenango de la Frontera , Porvenir , Mazapa de Madero , Escuintla , Acacoyagua , Acapetahua , Huixtla , Pueblo Nuevo Solistahuacán , Tuzantán , Tapachula , Huehuetan , Mazatán , Tuxtla Chico , Cacahoatán , Frontera Hidalgo , Metapa , Suchiate , Unión Juárez , Chicomuselo and Frontera .
history
The diocese Tapachula was on June 19, 1957 by Pope Pius XII. Erected with the Apostolic Constitution Cum Nos from cessions of territory from the Diocese of Chiapas and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Antequera as a suffragan . On November 25, 2006, the Diocese of Tapachula by Pope Benedict XVI. subordinated to the Archdiocese of Tuxtla Gutiérrez as a suffragan with the Apostolic Constitution Mexicani populi .
