Bartolomé Carrasco Briseño (born August 18, 1918 in Tlaxco , Tlaxcala , Mexico , † January 7, 1999 ) was Archbishop of Antequera .

Life

Bartolomé Carrasco Briseño received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Puebla de los Ángeles on March 31, 1945 from the auxiliary bishop in Rome , Archbishop Luigi Traglia .

On August 19, 1963, Pope Paul VI appointed him . to the Bishop of Huejutla . The Archbishop of Puebla de los Ángeles, Octaviano Márquez y Tóriz , donated him episcopal ordination on December 17th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Tlaxcala , Luis Munive Escobar , and the Bishop Emeritus of Huejutla, Manuel Jerónimo Yerena y Camarena . Paul VI appointed him on May 18, 1967. the titular bishop of Claternae and ordered him auxiliary bishop in Antequera. Carrasco Briseño was appointed Bishop of Tapachula on June 11, 1971 . The inauguration took place on December 17 of the same year.

On June 11, 1976 Paul VI appointed him. to the Archbishop of Antequera. The inauguration took place on August 17th of the same year.

On October 4, 1993 Pope John Paul II accepted Bartolomé Carrasco Briseño's resignation due to reasons of age.

Bartolomé Carrasco Briseño attended the fourth session of the Second Vatican Council .
