Héctor González Martínez (born March 28, 1939 in Miguel Auza ) is retired Archbishop of Durango .

Life

Héctor González Martínez was ordained a priest on June 14, 1975 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Campeche on February 9, 1982 . The Archbishop of Durango , Antonio López Aviña , donated him episcopal ordination on March 24th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Manuel Castro Ruiz , Archbishop of Yucatán , and Arturo Antonio Szymanski Ramírez , Bishop of Tampico .

He was appointed coadjutor archbishop of Antequera, Oaxaca on February 4, 1988, and was appointed to office on April 5 of the same year. After retirement Bartolomé Carrasco Briseños he followed him on 4 October 1993 as archbishop of Antequera, Oaxaca to.

He was named Archbishop of Durango on February 11, 2003 and was introduced to office on February 26 of the same year.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on September 26, 2014.
