José Trinidad Medel Pérez

José Trinidad Medel Pérez (born June 3, 1928 in Santa Cruz Aquiáhuac ; † September 11, 2017 ) was a Mexican clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Durango .

Life

José Trinidad Medel Pérez was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Puebla de los Ángeles on January 15, 1955 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Tula on May 22, 1986 . The Apostolic Delegate in Mexico, Archbishop Girolamo Prigione , donated him episcopal ordination on July 12 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Rosendo Huesca Pacheco , Archbishop of Puebla de los Ángeles, and Ricardo Guízar Díaz , Bishop of Atlacomulco .

On March 4, 1993, he was appointed Archbishop of Durango . On June 5, 2002, Pope John Paul II accepted the resignation he had submitted for health reasons.
