The Municipio Porvenir is a district in the Pando Department in the lowlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
The Municipio Porvenir is one of four Municipios of the Nicolás Suárez Province and includes its central southern area. It is bordered by the municipality of Bolpebra to the west, by the municipality of Sena of the Manuripi province to the south, by the municipality of Bella Flor to the east, by the Republic of Brazil to the northeast , and by the municipality of Cobija to the northwest .
The municipality extends between about 11 ° 08 'and 11 ° 27' south latitude and 68 ° 30 'and 69 ° 00' west longitude, its expansion from west to east is up to 55 kilometers and from north to south up to 30 kilometers .
The municipality comprises 29 municipalities ( localidades ), the central place of the municipality is the rural town of Porvenir with 4,267 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) on the southern edge of the district on the left bank of the Río Tahuamanu , which in its further course bears the name Río Orthon and in the Río Beni flows out.

The Municipio Porvenir is located in the Bolivian part of the Amazon basin , northeast of the foothills of the Peruvian Cordillera Oriental in the tropical rainy climate of the equatorial zone.
The mean average temperature of the region is almost 26 ° C and fluctuates only insignificantly during the year and during the day, only in the dry winter months from June to August it is slightly lower due to the nocturnal heat radiation with open cloud cover (see climate diagram). The annual precipitation is around 1,900 mm and during the rainy season shows monthly values between 150 and 300 mm for more than half of the year, only in the short dry season from June to August does the precipitation drop to monthly values below 50 mm.

The population density in the last census of 2012 was 7.4 inhabitants / km², the literacy rate among those over 6 years of age had improved from 77.9 percent ( 1992 ) to 85.1 percent ( 2001 ). The life expectancy of newborns in 2001 was 65.4 years, and infant mortality had improved from 7.3 percent ( 1992 ) to 5.7 percent in 2001.
93.5 percent of the population speak Spanish , 1.3 percent speak Quechua, and 1.4 percent speak Aymara . ( 2001 ) 57.0 percent of the population have no access to electricity , 22.6 percent live without sanitary facilities . ( 2001 )
65.9 percent of the total of 831 households have a radio, 33.8 percent a television, 38.9 percent a bicycle, 17.7 percent a motorcycle, 7.6 percent a car, 9.0 percent a refrigerator, and 1, 3 percent a phone. ( 2001 )
