Manuripi is a province in the south-western and central part of the Pando department in the lowlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia . The province is named after the Manuripi River , which flows through the province from west to east.

location

The province is one of five provinces in the Pando department. It borders in the north on the province of Abuná , in the north-west on the province Nicolás Suárez , in the west on the Republic of Peru , in the south on the department La Paz , in the south-east on the province Madre de Dios , in the east on the department Beni , and in the Northeast to the province of Federico Román .

It extends between 10 ° 49 'and 12 ° 30' south latitude and 66 ° 00 'and 69 ° 14' west longitude, its longitude from southwest to northeast is 370 kilometers, its latitude from north to south up to 100 kilometers.

The province of Manuripi was divided into the following three Municipios at the last census in 2012 :

  • 09-0201 Municipio Puerto Rico (5,292 km²) in the central part of the province - 6,239 inhabitants - 1.2 inhabitants / km²
  • 09-0202 Municipio San Pedro (2,623 km²) in the eastern part of the province - 2,991 inhabitants - 1.1 inhabitants / km²
  • 09-0203 Municipio Filadelfia (11,838 km²) in the western part of the province - 5,756 inhabitants - 0.5 inhabitants / km²
