Pueblo Nuevo Solistahuacán is a municipality in the north-central part of the Mexican state Chiapas . Solistahuacán comes from Nahuatl and means "place of the people who have weapons made of flint".
The municipality has about 31,000 inhabitants and an area of 248.3 km². The administrative seat and largest place of the municipality is the Pueblo Nuevo Solistahuacán of the same name ; the second largest place in the municipality is Rincón Chamula .
The municipality Pueblo Nuevo Solistahuacán borders the municipalities Amatán , Huitiupán , Simojovel , San Andrés Duraznal , Jitotol , Rayón , Tapilula and Ixhuatán .
