history

The diocese of Tuxpan was on June 9, 1962 by Pope John XXIII. Established with the Apostolic Constitution Non latet from cessions of territory from the dioceses of Huejutla , Papantla , Tulancingo and Tampico and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Jalapa as a suffragan .
