The Diocese of Celaya ( lat. : Dioecesis Celayensis , span. : Diócesis de Celaya ) is in Mexico located Roman Catholic diocese based in Celaya .

history

The diocese of Celaya was on October 13, 1973 by Pope Paul VI. established with the Apostolic Constitution Scribae illi Evangelico from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Morelia and the Diocese of León . It was subordinated to the Archdiocese of San Luis Potosí as a suffragan . On November 25, 2006, the Diocese of Celaya by Pope Benedict XVI. subordinated to the Archdiocese of León as a suffragan with the Apostolic Constitution Mexicani populi .
