Jesús Humberto Velázquez Garay
Jesús Humberto Velázquez Garay (born May 16, 1940 in Culiacán ; † June 22, 2013 ) was Bishop of Celaya .
Life
Jesús Humberto Velázquez Garay was ordained a priest for the diocese of Culiacán on March 12, 1964 .
Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Culiacán and titular bishop of Belesasa on February 10, 1983 . The Apostolic Delegate in Mexico , Girolamo Prigione , ordained him episcopal on May 4th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Luis Rojas Mena , Bishop of Culiacán , and Alfonso Humberto Robles Cota , Bishop of Tepic .
On April 28, 1988, he was appointed bishop of Celaya . On July 26, 2003, Pope John Paul II accepted his resignation for health reasons.
