Eberhard von Gemmingen (1527–1583)

Eberhard von Gemmingen (* 1527 , † 1583 ) is a progenitor of the Bürg line of the barons of Gemmingen . In the division of the estate in 1582, he fell to Bürg and, together with his brothers, also acquired the Weinfelden estate in Thurgau in 1575 , which remained in the family's possession until 1614.

Life

He was a son of Eberhard von Gemmingen zu Bürg († 1572), who was the lord in Bürg , Widdern , Maienfels , Presteneck and Treschklingen and Burgmann zu Oppenheim . He and his parents managed their property together, and Eberhard's brothers Hans Walther († 1591) and Reinhard (1532–1598) and their wives later joined the community . It was not until 1582 that an inheritance was divided, when Eberhard Buerger fell to.

In 1574 he lent 400 guilders to the city of Ingelfingen to build a pipe well. In 1575 he and his brothers acquired the Weinfelden estate in Thurgau , which had briefly been owned by the Gemmingen-Steinegg line from 1551 to 1555 . The brothers built a poor house and set up a school. Her descendants sold the rule to the city of Zurich in 1614 .

In 1576, Eberhard and his brothers reached an agreement with the Electoral Palatinate about the rights to alluvial sand in the Gemmingen Au near Oppenheim .

He and his wife were buried in the Neuenstadt am Kocher cemetery.
