Ebony Wall is a symphonic metal band from Annaberg-Buchholz .

history

Ebony Wall was founded in autumn 2011 by guitarist and songwriter Ronny Schuster. Bert Wolter (bass), Philipp “Nafta” Dießl (drums) and Yves Merten (guitar, vocals), who all knew each other from the bands Testimony, Fimbulthier and Wishmaster, a Nightwish co-association, were there from the beginning. In the initial phase, the company was originally looking for a male singer and held a number of auditions for it. During this time a friend gave Ronny Schuster a CD from the band Eternal Sleep, on which the then 17-year-old Nina Irmscher sang. Enthusiastic about her voice, he invited her to a band rehearsal. At the same time keyboardist Denny “Malle” Meitsky joined in, who had also played with Nina on Eternal Sleep. Both completed Ebony Wall's final line-up in December 2011.

The first few months of the band's history were characterized by intensive rehearsals and songwriting.

At the end of 2012 they went to the ToneKeeper Studio located in Annaberg-Buchholz , where Ebony Wall recorded a demo CD for the first time together with producer Andreas Rudolph.

On March 2, 2013, Ebony Wall had her first live performance in the Alte Brauerei Annaberg-Buchholz . Wrapped in priestly robes, the band proved to be convincing live in front of an audience and to meet their expectations.

New fans and appearances at home and abroad (including in the supporting program of bands such as Tankard , Grave Digger , Xandria and Alpha Tiger ) were quickly added.

In early 2014, they met again at ToneKeeper Studio to start work on the debut album. Due to some interruptions, the recordings were only completed in early 2015.

On May 9, 2015, the first full-length album Time was released.

In August 2015, keyboardist Meitsky announced his departure. He played his last concert with Ebony Wall on November 7th, 2015. At the same time, Nikolas Dießl's successor was announced.

In 2016 Ebony Wall reached the final of the Wacken Metal Battle.
