Echinopsis calliantholilacina is a species of the genus Echinopsis in the cactus family(Cactaceae). The specific epithet calliantholilacinus is derived from the Greek words kallos for 'beauty' and lilacinus for 'lily-colored'.

description

Echinopsis calliantholilacina usually grows individually. The spherical, gray-green shoots reach heights of 3 to 4 centimeters with a diameter of 6 to 9 centimeters. The apex of the shoot is somewhat depressed. There are ten to twelve ribs , which are divided into ax-shaped cusps. The elliptical areoles on it are gray and are up to 1.5 centimeters apart. The gray thorns emerging from them are tipped brown. The single awl central spine is directed upwards, curved inwards and 1.5 to 2 centimeters long. The seven to nine curved radial spines are somewhat clawed and lie on the shoot surface. They have a length of 0.8 to 1.5 centimeters.

The light magenta to almost white flowers appear on the side of the shoots and open at night. They become up to 15 centimeters long.
