Echinopsis obrepanda is a species of the genus Echinopsis in the cactus family(Cactaceae). The specific epithet obrepanda is derived from the Latin words ob- for 'reversed' and repandus for' dissipated ' and refers to the humps of the ribs.

Echinopsis obrepanda usually grows individually and occasionally forms small groups with age. The depressed spherical, dark or gray-green shoots reach a diameter of up to 20 centimeters. There are 13 to 18 sharp-edged ribs , which are divided into ax-shaped cusps. The gray areoles are located in the notches and are about 2 centimeters apart. From them arise slightly curved, white to brownish thorns . The one to three central spines, which can occasionally be missing, are curved at their tips and 2 to 5 centimeters long. The six to 13 radial spines, which are mostly arranged in a comb shape, are up to 1 centimeter long.
The funnel-shaped, parsley-scented, white to magenta flowers open at night. They become 10 to 20 centimeters long. Your flower tube is slightly curved. The outer bracts are spread out, the inner ones curved upwards. The spherical fruits are semi-dry.
Distribution, systematics and endangerment
Echinopsis obrepanda distributed in the Bolivian departments of Santa Cruz , Cochabamba and Chuquisaca at low to high altitudes.
The first description as Echinocactus obrepandus by Joseph zu Salm-Reifferscheidt-Dyck was published in 1845. Karl Moritz Schumann placed the species in the genus Echinopsis in 1894 . A nomenclature synonym is Pseudolobivia obrepanda Backeb. (1942).

One of the numerous synonyms of Echinopsis obrepanda subsp. obrepanda is Echinopsis fiebrigii Gürke (1905).
In the Red List of Threatened Species of the IUCN , the species is listed as " Least Concern (LC) ". H. listed as not endangered.
