Echion (division)
Echion ( Greek Ἐχίων , genitive Ἐχίονος 'snake man' from ἔχις echis 'snake') is one of the five surviving divisions ( Spartoi , 'sown men') in Greek mythology that emerged from the dragon teeth sown by Kadmos .
Echion was chosen as son-in-law by Kadmos for his great bravery. With the daughter of Kadmos, Agaue , he is the father of Pentheus . At Ovid he built Thebes with Kadmos , where he built a temple for Cybele .
