really antique ?!

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

really antique ?! was a television series about antiques, which was produced from 2006 to 2008 by SWR television in Baden-Baden . The show was moderated by Anja Höfer .

concept

The concept of the broadcast was that the visitors could have their antiquarian objects brought to the events appraised and valued free of charge by art experts from various fields (furniture, porcelain, jewelry, paintings). The owners and television viewers learned the details and market value of the antiques.

The most important thing about really antique ?! was the description and assessment of exceptional antiques. It was not the value that mattered, but the specialty, the regional reference and the history behind it.

Comparable programs include Antiques Roadshow by the BBC (since 1979), Kunst + Krempel des BR (since 1985), Lieb & Teuer des NDR (since 2001) and Bares für Rares (since 2013), although Bares für Rares has to is more important than the art historical advice and classification. The former chief expert from really antique ?! Albert Maier is also an expert on bares for rares .

Course of an event

The assessment events took place at various historical locations throughout the SWR broadcasting area. In a pre-selection, head expert Albert Maier assessed and classified the pieces brought with him at the reception in terms of art history and then assigned the visitors to the respective experts. Together with the editorial staff and with the expert help of Albert Maier, the pieces that came in front of the camera were selected. Selected pieces were then recorded by a camera team.
