The Anenii Noi District is a Raion in the Republic of Moldova . The capital of the Rajons is Anenii Noi .
geography
The Rajon is located in the east of the country. The Bîc flows through the area in a west-east direction. The Dniester River forms the eastern border of the Rajon with Transnistria . In the north, Anenii Noi borders on the Criuleni district , in the south on the Tighina and Căușeni districts and in the west on the Chișinău and Ialoveni districts .
history
The Rajon Anenii Noi has existed since 2003. Until February 2003, the area belonged to the now dissolved district of Chișinău (Județul Chișinău) together with the present-day Rajons Criuleni, Ialoveni and Strășeni .
population
Population development
1959 lived in the area of today's Rajons 55,269 inhabitants. In the following decades the number of inhabitants increased steadily: from 65,908 in 1970 to 75,986 in 1979 to 83,630 in 1989. By 2004, as in the whole of Moldova, the population of the Rajon fell, which was 81,710 in that year. In 2014 it was 78,996.
Ethnic groups
According to the 2004 census, Moldovans make up the largest ethnic group in the Anenii Noi district with 84.2%, followed by the Ukrainians with 8.0% and the Russians with 5.1%. Smaller minorities are the Romanians with 1.0%, the Bulgarians with 0.6% and the Gagauz with 0.3%.

In addition to the capital, Anenii Noi Rajon consists of 25 parishes and 19 villages. Five of these villages are located in the capital region, three in Ciobanovca, two in Zolotievca and one each in the municipalities of Botnăreşti, Calfa, Chetrosu, Chirca, Cobusca Veche, Geamăna, Ochiul Roş, Telița, and Țânțăreni.
