The Dubăsari Raion is a raion in the Republic of Moldova . The capital of the Rajons is Cocieri . Parts of the Rajon are in the de facto controlled area of Transnistria .

The Rajon is located in the east of the country.

history

The area of ​​today's Rajons was part of the Județ Chișinău until 2003. During the administrative restructuring in 2003, the Dubăsari Rajon was established in its current form.

population

1959 lived in the area of ​​today's Rajons 31,281 inhabitants. In the following decades the number of inhabitants remained stable: from 31,812 in 1970 to 31,141 in 1979 up to 31,447 in 1989. By 2004, contrary to the general population development of Moldova, the population of the Rajons increased to 34,015 in that year. By 2014 it had dropped to 29,271.
