Eckhard Leue

Eckhard Leue (born March 20, 1958 in Magdeburg ) is a former German canoeist and current canoe trainer . He was the bronze medalist at the 1980 Summer Olympics .

Life

As a teenager, Leue devoted himself to canoe racing at BSG Motor Magdeburg Südost . He was delegated to SC Magdeburg and had many victories in the single canoe . His passion for this sport was born in his cradle through his parents Sigrid and Rolf Leue , who are also very successful paddling . In 1980 he won the bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Moscow .

Since 2000 he has been a canoe trainer at the Sportclub Magdeburg . His protégés, including his children Friederike Leue and Erik Leue , who belong to the German national team , won more than two dozen German championship titles. Internationally, they have won European, World Cup and U23 titles and medals. He also works as a federal fee coach for the U23 team.

On August 28, 2018, he was allowed to register as a trainer in the city ​​of Magdeburg's Golden Book .
