Eckhard Sauren

Eckhard Sauren (born September 25, 1971 in Aachen ) is a German entrepreneur and fund of funds manager . In Germany it is considered a pioneer in this fund category.

Life

Eckhard Sauren founded Sauren Finanzdienstleistungen GmbH & Co. KG in 1991, based in Cologne. From the beginning he specialized in the independent analysis of fund managers and their products. While most rating agencies rate funds quantitatively, Eckhard Sauren only analyzes the person of the fund manager . To this end, he and his team conduct around 350 interviews with fund managers every year. In the 25 years since the company was founded, he has had over 6,000 conversations worldwide.

The results of this work are published in the form of rating grades ( “Sauren gold medals” ) or implemented directly within our own fund of funds. Sauren employs 30 people in Cologne and manages around EUR 2.5 billion in 15 funds of funds.

As a book author, Eckhard Sauren published “Das Sauren Fund Concept” in 2007. In 2015, the book “The Interest Rate Trap: The New Threat for Conservative Investors - Recognizing and Avoiding Dangers for the Portfolio” followed, which was added to manager magazin ’s “bestseller list” shortly after its publication .

Eckhard Sauren has his own horse racing stable and has been a member of the presidium of the owners' association for thoroughbred breeding and races since 2007. Since the end of 2010 he has also been President of the Kölner Renn-Verein 1897 eV In 2014, Eckhard Sauren was appointed to the advisory board of the 1. FC Köln soccer club.

Instead of Christmas presents, Sauren runs an annual fundraising campaign in which business partners can choose from ten changing, charitable organizations. Sauren will then donate EUR 25 for the business partner to their selected social initiative. The Sauren donation portfolio amounts to approx. EUR 50,000 annually.
