Eckhard "Ecki" Lipske (born November 11, 1961 in Lauchhammer ) is a German rock musician. He was best known as the guitarist of the band electra .

Life

Lipske began an apprenticeship as a wooden model maker in 1976. At the age of 16 he formed his first band. He completed his correspondence course, which he began in 1982 at the foundry school in Leipzig, in 1987 as an engineer for foundry technology. He has been a full-time musician since 1988. First he performed with his own band PS & Co. , later he was a member of the band Agentur Null .

From 1990 Lipske was the guitarist of the Dresden band electra , which celebrated its 40th anniversary on stage in 2009, making it one of the oldest active bands in Germany. The last electra concert took place in September 2015.

Lipske is currently a member of the band Inspired . In addition, he appears together with his wife Katrin Lipske and Werner Lehmann as the country band Drugstore (since 1990) and with his own Ecki Lipske band (since 2001). Other side projects are the Lipske Bielke Trio (since 2006) and Angie & The Crazy Birds . Lipske's first solo album My Wooden Babe was released in 2000.

Lipske works as a guitar teacher at the music schools in Senftenberg and Leipzig .

The marriage with Katrin Lipske resulted in two daughters. Ecki Lipske lived for many years in Kostebrau in Brandenburg and later moved to Leipzig.
