Ed Sampson
Ed Sampson (actually Edward Horace Sampson ; born December 23, 1921 in Fort Frances , Ontario , Canada ; † August 26, 1974 in Koochiching County , Minnesota ) was an American ice hockey player . His son Gary Sampson also took part in the USA in ice hockey at the Winter Olympics.
Career
Edward Sampson grew up in International Falls , Minnesota , and played for several amateur ice hockey teams. For the US national ice hockey team he took part in the 1956 Winter Olympics in Cortina d'Ampezzo , where he won the silver medal with his team.
