Edward Kai Wang (born March 12, 1987 in Fairfax , Virginia ) is a former Chinese - American American football player. He played in the position of offensive tackles in the National Football League (NFL). Wang was the first Chinese ever selected in the NFL Draft and the first Chinese to play in the NFL.

NFL

Buffalo Bills

Wang was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the fifth round of the 2010 NFL Draft . In his rookie season, he played in six games. On September 3, 2011, Wang was placed on the waived-injured list as part of the squad reduction to 53 players . He spent the 2011 season on the Injured Reserve List until his release on November 8, 2011 .

Oakland Raiders

On May 1, 2012, Wang was signed by the Oakland Raiders . In August 2012, Wang was first placed on the Waived-Injured List by the Raiders and then placed on the Injured Reserve List after they passed. On September 5, 2012, Wang was finally released.

Philadelphia Eagles

On February 15, 2013, the Philadelphia Eagles signed Wang. He was released on August 19, 2013.

According to the NFL

Since September 2014, Wang has been Vice President of League Development for the China Arena Football League .

Private

Wang's parents were part of China's track and field team at the 1984 Summer Olympics .
