Edward John "Edd" China (born May 9, 1971 in London ) is an English moderator , car mechanic , engine expert, inventor and entrepreneur . He is best known from the series The used car professionals broadcast on DMAX .

Life

Edd China has been interested in everything mechanical since early childhood. He attended King Edward's School in Witley , Surrey , and holds a degree in Engineering Product Design from London South Bank University . While still a student, he developed the Casual Lofa , a motorized sofa. He also created other fun vehicles that, like the casual lofa, found their way into the Guinness Book of Records .

Television career

In Germany, Edd China is best known as the mechanic of the series The Used Car Profis , in which he and car dealer Mike Brewer buy, fix and resell older used cars at low prices. He first gained popularity with his fun vehicles, which brought him numerous guest appearances on English television formats, including Top Gear . In May 2017 he announced his departure from used car professionals due to differences in content , his successor is Ant Anstead .

Companies

Edd China had in Bracknell ( Berkshire ) an auto repair shop called Grease Junkie garage , which in 2016 Liquidation went. Under the same name, he runs a website that sells Grease Junkie and Wheeler Dealers merchandise .

His company Cummfy Banana Ltd is the manufacturer of the fun vehicles he has designed and also rents them out.
