Ant Anstead

Anthony Richard "Ant" Anstead (born March 1979 in Plymouth ) is an English television presenter , car mechanic and vehicle manufacturer. He is best known from the series The Used Car Professionals broadcast on DMAX , in which he replaced Edd China as co-host of Mike Brewer in 2017 .

education

Anstead was born in Plymouth and after moving to Hertford attended school and later college in Haileybury , from which he graduated with an A-Level . He then went to the police force in 1999, where he became a member of a Tactical Firearms Unit (TFU) in Welwyn Garden City and received two awards for bravery during his service.

In 2005, Anstead left the police force and began restoring and recreating classic vehicles as well as building individual items.

He also played football in the National League for several years .

Television career

In 2014, Anstead started his own television production company to produce his series The World's Most Expensive Cars . He has appeared in several car shows and hosted the live program Building Cars Live on BBC Two . He can be seen at auto shows and appears as a speaker and motivator at school and charity events. Since 2017, Anstead has been a partner of Mike Brewer at the used car professionals , where he replaced Edd China as co-moderator.

Private life

Anstead has a daughter and a son from his first marriage and has been in a relationship with the American presenter Christina El Moussa since autumn 2017 , whom he married in December 2018. He is the patron of the Harrison Fund , a charity for children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy .
