Eddie Parker (musician)

Eddie Parker (born May 28, 1959 in Liverpool ) is a British modern jazz flutist and composer.

Parker initially played in local rock bands as a teenager and was based on Ian Anderson . During his studies at New York University he came into contact with jazz . He became a member of Django Bates ' "Human Chain" and moved to London . There he played in John Stevens ' band "Freshbop" and Louis Moholo's " Dedication Orchestra "; he was a founding member of Loose Tubes . Then he founded his own bands, went on tour with Bheki Mseleku and was a member of the "Delightful Precipice". He also worked with Marvin Smith and John Parricelli . He composed for the bands in which he played, but also for the Docklands Sinfonietta and for the "Apollo Saxophone Quartet".

He also works as an arranger and taught, initially at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama , and from 1998 to 2006 at Middlesex University .
