Edward "Eddie" Williams (* around 1910 in New York ) was an American jazz - tenor saxophonist .

Eddie Williams played during the swing era of the 1930s and 40s in the Mills Blue Rhythm Band (1937), Billy Kyle (1937), Don Redman (1939), Jelly Roll Morton (1940), Lucky Millinder (1940/41), Ella Fitzgerald (1941), Henry Red Allen and Chris Columbus (1942), James P. Johnson (1944) and in California 1945/46 with Garvin Bushell . While doing military service after World War II, he played in Europe. In the New York area he performed with his own bands; In 1958/59 he played with Bennie Green and participated in his Blue Note recordings ( Walkin 'and Talkin' ). Williams took u. a. with Josh White and Charles Brown . In the 1960s he still worked with Pee Wee Russell / Oliver Nelson ( The Spirit of '67 ), Earl Coleman ( Manhattan Serenade 1968) and played regularly in Happy Caldwell's band . In the field of jazz he participated in 21 recording sessions from 1927 to 1961, where he can also be heard on the clarinet , other saxophones and the cello.
