The Edelweißbrauerei Oskar Farny eK is a brewery from Kißlegg founded in 1833 .
history
The Farny estate was originally owned by Konrad Kugel. In 1833 the government of the Kingdom of Württemberg granted him the concession to build a real beer brewery. In 1856 Bibiane Farny (née Kugel) and Eustache Farny bought the brewery from parents and siblings of the Kugel family. In 1983 Oskar Farny established the non-profit Oskar and Elisabeth Farny Foundation .
In 2001 Farny took over the brewery business of the Bürgerliches Bräuhaus Ravensburg and continued to run its brands for a while; The beers were produced in the modernized and expanded Edelweiss brewery facility in Dürren. These types of beer are now also offered exclusively under the Farny brand. In 2008 the company had 60 employees and four trainees.
Manufacturing
The beer is brewed with brewing water from its own spring, which has meanwhile achieved the status of a natural monument. There is also a modern plant for pure yeast . Malts and hops come from Tettnang and Hallertau growing areas.
range
The range includes 11 types of beer and two mixed beer drinks. It supplies over 400 restaurants and 350 sales outlets in southern Germany; 20 million bottles of beer are produced each year.
- Wheat beers (8 types)
- Bottom-fermented beers (3 types)
- Mixed beer beverages (2 types)
Others
The brewery is a member of the Brauring , a cooperation between private breweries from Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
