Construction progress in March 2020

The Eden is a high-rise building on Güterplatz in Frankfurt am Main that has been under construction since 2018 . The construction of the 98-meter-high residential building with 27 floors began with the groundbreaking on May 29, 2018 and is expected to be completed in 2021.

It is to be built on the former Bosch site next to Mainzer Landstrasse. The Spin Tower hotel high-rise , a residential complex of the ABG Frankfurt Holding with 270 apartments and a station on the U5 subway line are to be built on the same 13,700 square meter property . The client is the investor gsp Städtebau from Berlin, who will build the project up to the completion of the underground car park. Then the new owner Immobel takes over the project development.

Originally a height of about 90 meters was planned. In addition, the number of planned condominiums was increased from 200 to 263, these are to be smaller than originally planned and mostly have one to three rooms. There will also be three penthouses . In addition to a concierge service, there will be a fitness studio. Panorama windows are planned for the rooms, the building facade is to be greened. The underground car park with 420 spaces should also be available for the surrounding buildings.

The building site is part of the Europaviertel . Nearby are the building complex with the Skyline Plaza shopping center and the Grand Tower residential high-rise , which is currently being built by gsp Städtebau.

history

Originally, Robert Bosch GmbH wanted to build a high-rise office building on the site previously used by Telenorma . In 2013 this plan was changed and a high-rise residential building between 60 and 90 meters was to be built. Because no investor could be found, Robert Bosch GmbH sold the property to ABG Frankfurt Holding , gsp Städtebau and a private investor in 2015 . Plans were presented for the construction of a hotel tower with a maximum height of 115 meters and an approximately 90 meter high residential tower. In addition, a perimeter block development with apartment buildings was to be created. Completion was planned for 2020 or 2021.

At the beginning of 2016, a realization and ideas competition was launched, which the architects Jahn and Magnus Kaminiarz & Cie. won. The design envisaged a 90 meter high residential tower ("Tower 90") and a perimeter block development on Europa-Allee. In 2018 the name "Eden" was announced.

In January 2019, the project developer gsp Städtebau announced that the project had been sold to the Belgian company Immobel.
