Edgar Jarratt Applewhite

Edgar Jarratt Applewhite (born April 24, 1919 in Newport News , † February 15, 2005 in Georgetown (Washington, DC) ) was an American writer .

Life

Edgar Jarratt Applewhite was the son of a dentist. He married Joyce Zinsser († 1996). In 1941, he graduated in philosophy at Yale University , and decrypted then on the USS Belleau Wood (CVL-24) . After his discharge from the United States Armed Forces , in 1946 he became an employee of Richard Buckminster Fuller . In 1948 he found employment with the Central Intelligence Agency . In 1955 he was in charge of a telecommunications intelligence post in Berlin . In Beirut he was in charge of the station. In 1967, Sol Stern reported in Ramparts (magazine) that the CIA would fund the National Student Association . Desmond Fitzgerald hired Edgar Applewhite to discredit the editors of the quarterly. Applewhite used the methods of the CIA to reduce the circulation of the quarterly magazine, especially since the editors were exposed to blackmail . He was briefly assistant to Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara and retired in 1970.

After his retirement from 1970 to 1979, he worked again with Richard Buckminster Fuller , where Fuller produced: Synergetics: Explorations in the Geometry of Thinking (1975) and Synergetics 2 (1979). His literary estate exceeds one meter .
