Edgar Ring (* 1955 in Haltern am See ) is a German medieval and modern archaeologist as well as a university professor.

Life

From 1975 to 1986 he studied prehistory and early history , folklore and Nordic studies at the universities of Münster , Mainz and Kiel . After completing his doctorate in 1986 with the work Die Königspfalz Werla . The medieval pottery was he from 1987 to 1991 Head of Urban Archeology in Uelzen . Since 1991 he has been in charge of urban archeology in Lüneburg . From 1996 to 2011 he was responsible for the preservation of monuments in Lüneburg. Since 2011 he has been the curator of archeology at the Museum Foundation Lüneburg. Since 1994 he has been a lecturer at the Archaeological Institute of the University of Hamburg .
