Edith Kindermann

Edith Kindermann (born May 16, 1962 in Westphalia ) is a German lawyer and notary . She has been President of the German Bar Association since March 2019 .

Life

Kindermann completed the one-stage legal training at Bielefeld University from 1981 to 1988. From 1988 to 1992 she worked as a research assistant at the Chair for Commercial Law and Tax Law at the Institute for Legal and Notary Law at Bielefeld University. In April 1992 she was admitted to the bar. She initially worked as a lawyer specializing in agricultural law in East Westphalia before moving to Bremen and her law firm specialized in family, construction and public procurement law. She has been a specialist lawyer for family law since 1999 and a notary since 2007.

Positions

Kindermann has been a member of the board of the Bremen Lawyers' Association since 1998. Since the second legislative period, she has been a member of the constitutional assembly of the Federal Bar Association and a board member of the Legal Society of Bremen. In the DAV she is chairman of the RVG and court costs committee, chairwoman of the general lawyer working group and member of the insurance law committee. As a board member, she is a seconded member of the executive committees of the agricultural law working groups and lawyers in the DAV.
