Wolfgang Ewer

Wolfgang Reinhard Ewer (* 1955 in Berlin ) is a German lawyer, attorney and university professor.

Life

Ewer completed a law degree at the Free University of Berlin and at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel . After completing his legal internship in Schleswig-Holstein , he was admitted to the bar in 1986. He works in Kiel as a lawyer and specialist attorney for administrative law and teaches at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel, since 2005 as an honorary professor . Ewer has published numerous specialist articles on the subjects of public law. He is co-editor of the journal Neue Juristische Wochenschrift (NJW) .

Ewer represented various parliamentary groups in the German Bundestag in organ disputes against the Federal Government and the Bundesrat as well as the Left and Alliance 90 / The Greens parliamentary group in the decision-making process on the NSA committee of inquiry before the Federal Constitutional Court . He also represented citizens on constitutional complaints .

From 2009 to 2015 Ewer was President of the German Lawyers' Association (DAV) . In 2017 Ewer became President of the Federal Association of Liberal Professions .

In 2018 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon .
